Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle

Edinburgh Castle

For those you who know me… you know who are… you know my fascination for Scotland.  Edinburgh Castle was by far the highlight of my visit.

Greyfriars Kirkyard, Holyrood Palace (the Royal Family still comes here), Calton Hill, Arthur’s Seat and so much more.  The Royal Mile makes the trip from one end to the other and it won’t disappoint.

Just being in the Castle was magical.  Closing my eyes and listening to birds and the sounds, I could picture live so many years ago when the Royal family was in residence.

The display of the Crown jewels was magnificent.  The Great Hall was so impressive.  All of the weapons and armor were incredible.  It was completed for James the IV in 1511.  It is right in the middle of the castle.  Going inside you can’t help but be overwhelmed with the wooden roof.  It is huge!!!! For some reason, I can’t find those pictures.. except maybe I could not take them?  I have this one though.

Inside The Great Hall in the middle of the castle.. not sure if I was supposed to take this picture
