Newcastle Upon Tyne

Newcastle Upon Tyne

Well, after my three days in Edinburgh, it was time to pick up the rental car and do some mileage towards Newcastle Upon Tyne.  I have posted about Newcastle in my 2016 trip, but this time, I was driving, with a Sat Nav and Google Maps.  Here goes my test theory on which one was better, if I could maneuver on the left side of the road, driving on the right side of the car and oh yes, the most important, stick shift or as they say in the UK, manuel or gear shift car!

I have included some of my video *Caution, foul language used*, to let you see how scared I was and really for no reason, but I do laugh at myself everytime I watch these video.  So forgive me for my foul language, but I did post this on my YouTube page as well.

I wrote about Newcastle Upon Tyne in my Scotland 2016 post and I wish I could have stayed longer, but alas, I was only there for one day, it was furiously fast!.  I was able to spend a day with my lovely host and hostess, Ken and Sylvia and met their incredible daughter Deborah!  We had a lovely dinner in Newcastle at Miller & Carter Newcastle.  Scrumptious food!

It was a fast trip and a great time!  I will be returning to this lovely town and plan on going to the Lake District which I heard is gorgeous.

After dinner we stopped at a Gin Bar.  Gin is all the rage right now and we had some delicious drinks and well… I tried pate.  Not a fan!  I thought it was hummus and much to my surprise.. uh nope…

The Gin bar was lovely and we had a lovely time!!!!!!

We wrapped up the night I had a wonderful sleep.  Breakfast in the morning and off I went back to Scotland and headed to Aberdeen!  I can’t wait to explore Newcastle more and if life treats me right I hope to head back next year end of Spring.

Love you Ken, Sylvia and Deborah!!!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart to the top.

As always, comments or corrections are appreciated!
