Ah Gladiators!  Just thinking of my rendition of what a gladiator is brings to my mind, strength, grit and tirelessly fighting the “bad guy”.  Ok, ok, now that the movie version is out of my head, I was lucky enough to go with Whitney to the original Roman Colosseum to learn what really went on there.

Hollywood has distorted it to an extent, but there was so much I learned on our tour that I have only seen on the History channel or learned in books, but to actually stand in and breathe it in was indescribable.  Read about it here

Just standing there in the colosseum, I closed my eyes and tried to imagine the majesty, the travesty and the simply awful things that happened here.  We sure have come a long way in civility.   Please enjoy some of the photos from the Roman Colosseum or the Flavian Amphitheater as it was called as well.

I don’t want this to turn into a history lesson and as we know history can have many versions, but I do highly suggest that if in Rome, do as the Romans did and come to the Colosseum to learn and experience the majesty of this amphitheatre.

As always, comments or corrections are appreciated!
