Follow me to the Fairy Glen on the Isle of Skye…

I have written a post on the Fairy Glen and the Fairy Pools in Skye.  I went there in May 2016 and was so lucky to have incredible weather and an incredible experience.  This time that I went, it was October of 2017, I went with my friend Paula and the weather was not spring-like at all, but what I loved is that it was quite the opposite and incredibly amazing.

The Fairy Glen is on the west side of Trotternish at Balnacnoc.  Balnacnoc means the village or township in the hills.  This is above Uig.

It looks like a miniature glen.  Honestly, the first time I saw it I was on a tour so I was just trying to see what I could, but driving up to its, it feels like you are in some land of enchantment.

We went to the Fairy Glen early in the morning.  I can’t describe to you the feeling when you get to the Glen.  It is if though ancestors are surrounding you.  I was so excited to go again to this incredible place of wonder.  The feelings that surround you in this Glen is something you must feel for yourself.  Then you will know.

Read here about the beautiful Fairy Glen

  • Enjoy the beauty and the serenity
  • Many tour buses come here so come early or on an off day
  • Each season offers its own wonder
  • Don’t touch the rocks!  Let them lay as they are.  Spirals don’t need to be created
  • Feel the magic in the air

When on the beautiful Isle of Skye, visit this incredible place, respect it, relish it, feel the magic and protect it.  I feel honored to have visited here and I can’t wait to come back and have that same feeling.  How special and magical all of Scotland is.

  1. I LOVE the Fairy Glen! When I visited, I had it to myself and wached a pair of peregrines mob a white-tailed sea eagle, which had its eyrie on Sgurr An Fheadain – The Waterpipe. Although it was a dull day, the colours in the Fairy Pools shone like jewels. It is a very special place!
